DDP is supporting future plans for a light rail system on Woodward Avenue through communications and community engagement efforts focused on Transit Oriented Development. These efforts, managed in partnership with the DEGC and Midtown Detroit, Inc. resulted in the establishment of a broad-based Planning Group. Under the initial guidance of the DDP and DEGC, this group meets on a monthly and as needed basis. DDP has committed significant resources along with its Downtown stakeholders to conduct interviews and workshops to provide optimal participation in authorship of the vision, principles, and action plans that will foster downtown investment, job development, and transit ridership.
