Holiday Lighting

The Downtown Detroit Partnership illuminates Downtown during the holiday season.  Through contracts with LeClerc Display Company, Inc. and Torre & Bruglio, Inc. / Brickman Group, the Downtown Detroit Partnership installs 258 lit snowflakes on light poles and 225,000 lights on trees.  The light bulbs on the snowflakes were converted from incandescent to LED in 2010, to reduce energy usage.  The Downtown Holiday Lighting program is primarily funded by the City of Detroit Downtown Development Authority.  The Holiday Lighting program enhances the physical characteristics of Downtown by brightening the streetscape for the residents, workers, and visitors of the neighborhood.
