New 3.5 Mile RiverWalk – The Detroit riverfront has triumphantly been reclaimed and most sections of the new RiverWalk are open between Joe Louis Arena and the Belle Isle Bridge.  The new Gabriel Richard Plaza & Pavilion has also opened.

New Lofts and Condos – Sales are strong for downtown and east riverfront housing projects like the Residences at the Book Cadillac, The Vinton Building, The Watermark Detroit, the Atwater Lofts and others.

Detroit Tigers Tigers home attendance topped 3 million in 2007 for the first time ever.

Detroit International River Days Festival – This family-friendly event returns this summer with exciting activities spanning from the Gabriel Richard Plaza & Pavilion to the GM Plaza & Promenade and beyond.  The free event showcases the natural assets of the Detroit riverfront.

NEXT Detroit: Clean Downtown – This very successful program continues to keep downtown clean and has now expanded to include the Detroit RiverWalk and portions of the Midtown area.

Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix – (Labor Day Weekend) – The return of Grand Prix racing to Detroit attracted race fans downtown, generated international visitors and media attention, and will bring long-term improvements to Belle Isle Park.

Three Permanent World Class Casinos – There is a total of 300,000 sq. ft. of world-class gaming at the new MGM Grand Detroit Casino, the MotorCity Casino and Greektown Casino (2008).

Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series – (June-August) – This popular concert series will return to the GM RenCen's Riverfront Plaza with a great 2008 lineup.

New Downtown Businesses – These new businesses and others have recently opened downtown or announced that they are coming: Shield’s Pizza, Eph McNally’s, Staples, The Woodhouse Day Spa, StubHub, Mezzanine, Studio Couture det., Lot 1210 and Esko.

4th Fridays with Ford – (4th Friday of May, June, July, August, September) – It’s back bigger and better this year with exciting music and activities in Campus Martius Park and throughout downtown.

1,200 New Deluxe Casino Hotel Rooms – Downtown Detroit will soon have 1,200 new hotel rooms for business travelers and tourists.

Detroit Eastern Market – The historic market is undergoing a transformation with new management and construction underway on Shed #2.

Dequindre Cut – Construction begins soon on this innovative greenway project which will run from the Eastern Market area to the riverfront.  Formerly a rail access corridor, the new pathway is expected to attract walkers, joggers and bikers.
